What is VoIP?

VOIP is short for Voice Over Internet Protocol. A single VOIP line is basically the same as a traditional telephone line. However, the technology and infrastructure requires that you use either a VOIP handset or an adaptor with your analogue handset.

What are the advantages?

  • You don’t need a landline or an ADSL line to have a telephone service. All you need is an LCOM wireless connection to your home.
  • Calls are cheaper than using traditional landlines – especially international calls.
  • You don’t need to change your Telkom telephone number to have a VOIP line. We can port your existing number to our network.
  • You can keep your number when you move. You can choose geographic (area-specific) or non-geographic numbers.
